What the Reference Does
Georgia records can sit with different custodians. The county sheriff's detention system holds a county booking record, a municipal agency may hold an incident report, a clerk holds the filed case and later disposition, and the Georgia Department of Corrections holds state-sentenced custody records. These are different record categories with different access rules. Keeping them separate helps a reader understand why one search result cannot stand in for every stage of an arrest.
The county pages also explain why Dooly has no public online roster or booking feed, how Georgia's booking-photo law affects requests, and why a booking charge is only an accusation. The state DOC locator is a different custody channel, not a substitute for a new county booking record.
What Readers Can Find
Information is organized around the record question rather than a photo gallery:
- the difference between current custody, a released booking record, and a court disposition;
- booking-record fields and the separate booking-photo request;
- Georgia Open Records and record-restriction sources;
- the Dooly court, GDC, BOP, and ICE custody distinctions;
- local coverage from The News Observer, WALB, GBI, and dated secondary archives.
Unadilla, Vienna, and Pinehurst have separate city pages because their record systems differ. Population references come from the U.S. Census incorporated-places table, while current facts are tied to the cited source material.
What Cannot Be Done Here
This is not a government office and has no affiliation with Dooly County, the Dooly County Sheriff's Office, a municipal police department, Georgia courts, the Georgia Department of Corrections, or any other agency. It cannot confirm that a person is in custody, release anyone, post bond, obtain a private file, or give legal advice. Only the originating office can confirm a current status or authenticate a record.
Charges in a booking or a news story are allegations. A court disposition may reduce, dismiss, or otherwise resolve them. A private archive can be old or incomplete. The source date and the official custodian matter more than a copied label.
Search-Partner Disclosure
Some search boxes on the public pages are supplied by third-party providers. Those providers set their own pricing, results, and data practices. If a visitor follows a tool to a paid signup, a referral fee may be earned. That fee supports the operation of the reference pages and does not turn a partner result into an official Dooly County record.
